Clifton Park Nursery School was the perfect choice for my nearly three year old only child. He desperately needed exposure to other children to form the basic social skills of sharing and using words rather than hands. Fortunately, the cooperative aspect allowed me to participate in the classroom setting, observing my child’s interaction with others, as well as getting to know his classmates. Additionally, I learned how to work with three year olds in a productive, calm manner by watching Mrs. Adams interact with the children. Not only did my child grow into a confident, social, friendly, and ready for kindergarten five year old, I became a better parent as well. Parenting skills – encouraging verbal exchanges, demonstrating sharing, conflict resolution, and calm handling of overwhelming situations – are much easier to grasp when observed in the classroom as Mrs. Adams manages twelve children with minds of their own. I believe that the social skills obtained during preschool made my son’s transition to kindergarten easy. To those of you who are concerned that academics aren’t the focus at Clifton Park Nursery School – rest assured, all children will learn the alphabet in kindergarten – but the basic social skills – sharing, listening attentively, sitting in a group and keeping hands to ones’ self - are truly what children need to succeed in kindergarten.

Clifton Park Nursery School, specifically, Mrs. Adams has provided my son Brady with a thirst for learning which is extremely important to me as a parent. He looks forward to going to school and is excited to see what activities Mrs. Adams has planned for the day. He flourished in the three year-old program and continues to grow in the four year-old class. He is developing the foundation on which I believe his entire education will be formed. In my opinion, there is no time more important in his education than right now.
As a parent, I am thrilled with the approach Mrs. Adams uses when instructing Brady and the rest of the students at CPNS. Every lesson is well planned and tied in to the theme that the class is working on. There’s big motor movement, circle time and table activities that are all coordinated. Plus, the students thrive on the continuity of the schedule.
In addition, I love that CPNS is a cooperative school so as parents we have a say in how the school is run, feel a strong tie to what is happening and have a large role in the classroom. Plus, Brady loves when it is our turn to be the Special Helpers!
Without hesitation, I recommend Clifton Park Nursery School to anyone who is interested in their child learning through social experiences and wants to be involved in their child’s education. CPNS and Mrs. Adams hold a special place in Brady’s heart and we couldn’t be happier!

Our experience at CPNS has been fantastic so far and we look forward to another great year. My son felt at home there from the very first visit and looks forward to playing with the friends he has made there each school day. I am completely comfortable leaving him there because I know that he is in a nurturing environment with a teacher and other parents he has developed relationships with. Each time I act as helping parent in the classroom I learn from Mrs. Adams and have gained conflict resolution skills that have made me a better parent.

My son, has often said, "I love to go to school and play with my school friends". As a mom, I love how Mrs. Adams encourages children to work out their problems independently and in a non-judgmental way. She is there for support and guidance when the child needs it and encourages the children to think for themselves. She also has a strong sense of the developmental needs of children and views each child as a unique individual.

My third child is now at Clifton Park Nursery School and he loves going as much as the other two did. It is great to watch how Mrs. Adams has interacted with each of my children on that child’s level.
CPNS really prepared my older two children to succeed at school for the long term. They learned to enjoy school, and still do. Looking back, the best part of the education for my older two children was setting them to be life long learners. They loved CPNS and that has translated into really enjoying elementary school. They learned how to listen, to follow directions, and to problem solve with their peers.
The cooperative nature of CPNS was perfect for me as a stay at home mom. Volunteering at school gave me something tangible to do and it will show community involvement when I return to work. It was also a great way to meet other parents and I made a number of friends.
Clifton Park Nursery School is a special place for our whole family!
